Based in Aldershot Hants, just down the road from AOLM HQ were Our Lost Infantry.
Progressing from indie-folk leanings to a more abstract and awkward pop-rock sound, the noise of Our Lost Infantry is all encompassing and ever evolving. Long words, manifold sections and multiple time signatures all collide to signify the evolution of the Aldershot band. A four-piece with a hard-work ethic and a burgeoning live reputation, in June they released their debut single ‘The Arsonist’/’Scissorfight’ to critical acclaim from the likes of thisisfakediy.co.uk, Muso’s Guide and the Daily Star.
OLI’s disparate sound has seen them share stages with a varied array of talent – Frightened Rabbit, Johnny Foreigner, Sky Larkin, Stornoway, Olympians, Spring Offensive, Badly Drawn Boy, Grammatics, The Northwestern, Field Music, The Brute Chorus, Sons Of Noel And Adrian, Peggy Sue and Hjaltalin. Inspired by the local bands they loved when growing up – Reuben, Hundred Reasons and Million Dead amongst others – Aldershot and the surrounding area is once again full of fresh and exciting ideas.
OLI’s proudest moments included making their first video, playing a headline show at the West End Centre in Aldershot, and scoring a top 10 hit in the Czech Republic with The Arsonist.
