After having scaled the heights of the music scene in his hometown of Sydney, Australia, Singer, songwriter, guitarist Johnson Jay has moved to England to introduce his unique folk/blues/rock to the London scene. He achieved nation wide fame and cult status after reaching the finals on Australian pop Idol and worked with Sydney’s top musicians and producers as a session guitarist. Johnson Jay and his band have gained popularity and recognition and he is proving to be a rising star of the local music scene with his shimmering melodies, rich and raw vocal delivery, philosophical lyrics, and mind blowingly virtuosic guitar work. His debut EP entitled ‘Duality’ and the follow up ‘It’s About Time’ are available at gigs and you can catch JJ playing with some of the best musicians across the country.

Jay was on Sky Arts playing guitar in Tony Visconti’s house band, in a tribute to the producer recorded at the Union Chapel

Jay has been been playing with the The Kenny Jones Band in 2018/9, but in early April 2019 he announced he and his family were to move to the USA for three years. He is now living in Nashville and has been playing with many well known musicians.
