In the age of pop dominance, and internet marketing, the world is in no short supply of flash in the pan artists. Most are pushing songs that were written, played, and sometimes even sung by someone else than the artists. Technology has turned anyone with a laptop into a musician, with auto tune and drum machines dominating most of today’s popular music.

“Bucking the trend” is a phrase that defines Max well. Max has made it her mission to go against the norm. Learning to play guitar at a young age, Max went into the music business with the only things legit artists need, talent and drive. Along with her expert guitar playing and unique vocal style, Max’s song writing shines. Making it her mission to write deeply personal songs, she has not only helped calm some of her personal struggles, but makes them easy to relate to just about anyone. While the subject matter may be deep at times, the music is energetic, fun, captures the attention of anyone listening.

With her own style of indie folk rock, Max has been entertaining audiences around her home state of Montana. Even from her small town in Bozeman, MT she has been discovered and featured in numerous online blogs and review sites including a feature in Autostraddle Magazine.

After signing with independent label, Get It On Vinyl, Max entered the legendary Peach Street Studios in early 2013 to produce her EP “Wings.” What came out were five intense tracks full of raw emotion and honesty. Whether it be a song of a lost love, or finding your own way, Max delivers her messages loud a clear and pulls the listener into a world where you discover she has been telling your stories too.
