Hombre

Hombre was a project by UK artist Greg Jinks

“Hombre is Greg Jinks(most of the time). After spending the last fifteen years in & out of bands I decided to try & write, arrange, perform & record an album by myself. The result was “Tales of a guitar slinger” – my first ever solo album. All of this was recorded on an old 8track using rubbish keyboard beats, the idea originally was to assemble a band around me – the band is in place but getting round to it has taken ages. The first album was very acoustic, with a hint of heavier tunes towards the end.
I finished that album & immediately started recording LA Detective, which is a lot more electric & more stylized in places, with the addition of some tunes i’d had written for years. The third album, was again recorded in quick succession, this time I stopped trying to be “acoustic” or play to a certain style, i just played what i wanted, the result was “DESERT PHANTOM” – which includes “Dali Calls” & “Contortion” – my 2 personal fav’s. “
